Digital Orthophotos

Spatial Data Consultants, Inc., offers the client state-of-the-art geo-referenced digital orthophotography. Production of a orthophoto is accomplished using a digital laser scanner which converts a photographic image into digital information in the form of pixels. A photogrammetrically captured Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is then related to the pixel coordinates. This transformation process removes image displacement and distortion to create a digital image with much greater geographic accuracy and image quality.

As demand for Geographic Information System (GIS) technology has grown, digital orthophotography has provided a cost-effective, accurate, and flexible foundation to construct a GIS database. The increased speed and efficiency has given our clients the ability to effectively take advantage of the ever increasing array of GIS software. We offer digital orthophotography a a complete service or we can provide clients who have photogrammetric capabilities with individual tailored services.

The finished raster products can be supplied in a variety of formats and delivered on various media such as CD-ROM, magnetic tape, or zip format. These products can be integrated and formatted in al major GIS systems. Our combination of sophisticated image processing and graphic arts software allows our organization to provide digital orthophoto products setting a new standard of quality in the surveying and mapping industry.
